What else could it have been?

While reorganizing my closet, I discovered a box of activities and worksheets from fourth grade.  One of the worksheets wanted us to write a response to the famous “Dear Virginia” article.  This is what I wrote (completely unedited),

Dear Virginia,

Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus because one year when I was a kid my dad went up on the roof and saw it, little raindeer prints and sleigh marks.  We also saw little snow clomps on the ground and it went from the door to the tree and back to the door.

Sincerely,

[This Girl]

  1. now that is just precious

  2. When I was little, I was convinced for years that Santa existed, even after my classmates assured me it wasn’t so. This conviction was the result of seeing Rudolf’s shadow in my room when I was 7. It was so real. Antlers and all!
