Of course I pretended to know the lyrics to “The Circle of Life”

Thank God my parents raised me on oldies and classic rock.

Because I do not think I would have survived spending 5 hours in a car yesterday if I didn’t have that music to rely upon.

Related: Why is it so hard to remember to charge my iPod?

Also.  If I’m going to be completely honest, not all 5 of those hours were spent listening to/scanning the radio.  About thirty minutes were spent listening to The Lion King soundtrack (on cassette!) because there is a certain patch of Illinois where apparently homefolk only listen to Christian or Latino music.

  1. “Thank God my parents raised me on oldies and classic rock.”

This has saved me, too, in many a rocky scenario.

(Actually, it’s STILL mostly what I listen to…)

  2. Oh I just can’t wait to be king.
i think it’s time that you and i arranged a heart to heart. kings don’t need advice from little hornbills for a start. if this is where the monarchy is headed count me out. out of service. out of africa, i wouldn’t hang about. this child is getting wildly out of (wing? er). OH I JUST CAN’T WAIT TO BE KING.

…just a little thirty second writing exercise. I’m…sure…I don’t know the majority of Disney lyrics ever written…la di da.
