Happy.

I woke up happy today.

Despite the statistics assignment that is still unfinished.

Regardless of the statistics exam that I have tomorrow at 7:30AM.

Forget the eleventy billion other things I have to accomplish before I go to sleep tonight.

I haven’t cried today.  I haven’t worried about the future.  I haven’t told myself that I’m a failure as a grad student.

I woke up happy today.

And I am clinging tightly to that.

  1. Good for you.

  2. I’m glad to hear it! And yes, ride it out 🙂

  3. My first year of grad school made me feel mediocre (a feeling I think, frankly, most people who get into grad school are not used to within an academic context) and horrible at times. I think most of my classmates felt that way. But we conquered it, and now the end is finally in sight 🙂 It’s a weird lifestyle, and it definitely takes adjusting.

    That babbling aside, yay for waking up happy! You will be great, even if it’s hard to see right now.

    If you need a pick me up on Friday, grab a Snickerdoodle latte at Espresso (50% off!). Yes, I provide free advertising for them…cheap lattes definitely help make grad school better for me. 😉

    • A Snickerdoodle latte?! ::Swoon::

    • OH MAN. The snickerdoodle latte? DELICIOUS.

  4. 🙂 Yay!

  5. I hope you continue waking up happy! Do NOT waste time being sad about grad school, because you WILL get a job. Know why? Because you’re smart, talented, passionate, and good at what you do.

    Wish you could come this weekend! But see you in a few weeks.

  6. Yay. Those are rhe best kind of days.
